Fashion is a unique way most individuals express themselves, having a unique sense of fashion is mostly appreciated by many. Tiwatope Omolara Savage popularly known as Tiwa Savage , the sensational Nigerian actress, singer and songwriter, has given a vivid detail of the test she went through as a new artiste with a different fashion sense.

Tiwa Savage who recently expressed her support for Ayra Star’s unique sense of fashion and also made a statement “Make It Shorter”, has explained that she was initially criticized over her fashion choices. Tiwa explains that she experienced discrimination from people in and outside the industry for the way she was dressed as an artiste. She understands that there was a huge cultural difference between overseas and Nigeria but most Nigerians were not ready to embrace change . As she was prevented from performing her first music or ever heard it played on television.

In an interview with Unique Chapman , the host for BET Talks , she says her songs were banned for being too risque and organizers refused her from performing her music on stage. She adds that , that didn’t stop her , as she made the dressing more revealing and songs more risque. To the best of her knowledge , other female artists who have experienced the same situation were admiring her courage and her fanbase was also growing. So ,the demand for her music grew higher and they had to make her perform and play her music on Air.

She said , “It was funny because the females were secretly falling in love with my style . They couldn’t deny. My fan base , my followers were growing. So they had to put me on shows and play my music because there was a demand for it”.
