Lordina Mahama Speaks on the Impending Elections as she Addressed The Gathering at an Asemblies of God Women’s Conference

Former First Lady, Mrs. Lordina Mahama, the wife of NDC flagbearer John Mahama, has pointed out that this year holds great significance for Ghana. It is a pivotal year in which Ghanaians are tasked with the crucial decision of electing a president on December 7, 2024.

Mrs. Lordina Mahama made these remarks while addressing the National Conference of the Ministers’ Wives Association of Assemblies of God Ghana. As a devout member of the church herself, she fervently prayed for Ghanaians to be bestowed with good “judgment to make the right choice, even in this period of misinformation and material influence”

She implored the pastors’ wives to unite with her in prayer for her husband, John Dramani Mahama, “for God to grant his heart desire, and bless him with divine empowerment to change the destiny” of Ghana for the better.

Mrs. Mahama expressed admiration for the pastors’ wives of Assemblies of God churches for their benevolence, maternal affection, and wise guidance, acknowledging the sacrifices they make, especially in rural and remote areas of the country.

She expressed delight in the fact that, through the Pastors’ Wives Association of Assemblies of God, many pastors’ wives have honed their skills and “have been equipped to provide both emotional and material support to their congregations.”

The National President of the Ministers Wives Association of Assemblies of God, Mrs. Monica Wengam, extensively discussed the church’s theme and highlighted how pastors’ wives can contribute to soul-winning for Christ, particularly in the face of moral decay like LGBTQ+ during her turn to address the gathering.

The General Superintendent of Assemblies of God, Ghana, Rev. Stephen Wengam, highlighted the invaluable support pastors receive from their wives, emphasizing their “selfless service and boundless sacrifice amplified by pastors’ wives in deprived communities where pastors earn peanuts”.

He offered prayers for blessings upon all pastors’ wives, cautioning them against mirroring the actions of Job’s wife as depicted in Job 2:9-11.

Rev. Wengam advised pastors’ wives of Assemblies of God, Ghana, to consistently set a positive example for their congregations, especially the female members, as he believed this would significantly contribute to the growth of churches and the nation as a whole.

The conference, themed “Seasoned to send the light,” was attended by 2000 pastors’ wives and covered various topics including Ministerial Ethics, Personal Grooming and Social Skills, the Pastors Wife and Emotional Intelligence, Leading Outside the Box, and Stress and Mental Wellness.
