Three film production companies have been awarded grants by the National Film Authority (NFA) to bolster their projects.The Creation Africa and CLAP ACP2 Co-production Grant is designed to foster collaboration and ingenuity within the Ghanaian film industry.
The French Embassy, Creation Africa, and the Organization Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) are collaborators in the initiative spearheaded by the National Film Authority.The National Film Authority unveiled the recipients of the Creation Africa and CLAP ACP2 Co-production Grant at the Accra Tourist Information Center on Tuesday, June 25.
The awardees are as follows: Driving Park Limited, who secured €80,000 for their project ‘A Dream to Die For’ addressing illegal mining; Adjoa Films, recipient of €5,000 for their film ‘Regulated Minds’ delving into men’s vulnerability and mental health; and Midnight Run Productions, also awarded €5,000 for their project ‘Tantra’, a horror film depicting night life in Accra.
In an interview with Accra-based Joy FM, NFA CEO Juliet Asantewaa elucidated the selection process for the three film projects, stating, “After careful consideration, we issued a call for submissions and received a plethora of entries. However, our focus was primarily on co-productions as a key criterion.”
