Record breaker for the current cook-a-thon, Chef Smith, gets arrested.

During the press conference on Tuesday, 2 July, Chef Smith eloquently declared, “Today marks a moment that will be etched in my memory forever. I am profoundly humbled and privileged to be in your presence today as the Guinness World Record holder.”

The remarkable event, hosted at La Palm Royal Beach Hotel, witnessed Chef Smith asserting that he had engaged in non-stop culinary activity for an impressive 820 hours, spanning from 1 February to 6 March 2024.

In a recent social media post, Chef Smith conveyed his enthusiasm by stating, “It is my distinct pleasure and privilege to announce the upcoming press conference of the esteemed Millennium Chef Smith. During this event, he will unveil the results of his remarkable achievement in breaking the Guinness World Record for the longest individual cooking marathon. The press conference is scheduled to take place at the prestigious La Palm Royal Beach Hotel on Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at 2:00 PM. We appreciate your anticipated cooperation.”

However, shortly after the jubilation, reports emerged regarding his apprehension on charges of fraud. Asaaseradio.com disclosed that his arrest and subsequent detainment were linked to an alleged misappropriation of funds from one of his sponsors, Amadia Shopping Mall, amounting to approximately GHC350,000.

Chef Smith’s cook-a-thon, highlighted by a prestigious event graced by renowned artists including Praye Tietia, Yaw Tog, Amerado, Kofi Jamar, and the Asakaa Boys, was designed to surpass the current record through a staggering display lasting 802 hours and 25 minutes.

Enthusiasts of Chef Smith eagerly anticipate additional information concerning the accusations of fraud as ongoing investigations unfold.
