The Ghana Immigration Service (GIS) has received a substantial donation of a mobile workshop van and 3,000 torchlights from the German Federal Government through the German Federal Police.
Addressing the audience, the Deputy Minister for the Interior, Hon. Naana Eyiah, emphasized that the contribution is a testament to the robust bilateral relations between Ghana and Germany and their dedication to bolstering Ghana’s progress.
The Hon. Deputy Minister pledged that the resources will be utilized efficiently and maintained well to optimize the utility of the items. She also conveyed profound appreciation to the German Federal Government for their benevolent donation to the Service.
The German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Daniel Krull, lauded GIS for their unwavering commitment to safeguarding and overseeing Ghana’s borders. He underscored the significance of the collaboration between GIS and the German Federal Police in border security management.
The Comptroller-General of Immigration, Mr. Kwame Asuah Takyi, highlighted that the mobile workshop van and torchlights will enhance the operational efficiency and effectiveness of Immigration Officers, particularly in remote regions. Additionally, these resources will support training and capacity-building initiatives for personnel.
This contribution represents a substantial reinforcement to GIS’s endeavors in ensuring the security and management of Ghana’s borders, underscoring the strong partnership between Ghana and Germany.
