A reveal on why Van Vicker was not featured in Lil Win’s “A Country Called Ghana “

Renowned actor Van Vicker has revealed his decision not to feature in Lil Win’s film, “A Country Called Ghana,”despite being initially approached for the lead role. The role that he was slated to portray was that of a British colonial master, a character eventually assumed by Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah.

During an interview on Hello FM last weekend, Van Vicker disclosed that he was briefed of the necessity to be present on set for an entire month when the role was first proposed to him. Due to his academic commitments at the time, he found it inconveniencing to dedicate such an extended period.

Instead, he proposed the casting of all his scenes within a 10-day timeframe, stipulating that a compensation fee would increase with each additional day required. He harbored doubts regarding the financial strength of the production company to accommodate his revised terms.

”As a matter of fact, Fii Frank Garbin called me and said he wanted me to play the role Ramsey played in that movie. So I wanted to know when we were shooting because I was in school.

“He got back and said the producer needed me for one month. I said one month is too much. What are we filming? You should know that with actors, the more days you require, the more fees I will charge, so the earlier you finish, the better.

“So you need me for one month; are you sure you can pay me for one full month? So I told him for one month I can’t do the work because I’m in school.

“I told him what I could do was ten days, and if he could do ten days, then I would do the work,” Van Vicker explained.

But Lil Win mentioned that the proposed ten-day timeline was incompatible with the production schedule, leading to its rejection. Van Vicker expressed his astonishment upon discovering that Ramsey Nouah, who was flown in from Nigeria, successfully completed the task within the same ten-day period that he had initially suggested.

“Later he said the ten days wouldn’t work. Can you believe that later I saw that Ramsey came to do the work? I was tracking the job, and can you believe Ramsey used ten days to do the job? I didn’t say I wasn’t going to do the work at all. I gave a counter- proposal. Even if he had come to negotiate an improvement on the days, he could have reached an agreement. The person they brought also did ten days,” he said.
