Kelly Clarkson, the Grammy winning singer and beloved daytime host, is closing a major chapter in her career and opening another one that’s deeply personal. After seven seasons, The Kelly Clarkson Show will air its final episodes this fall, as the host announced her decision to step away from the daily grind to focus on family and life balance.
Clarkson, 43, shared the news in an Instagram statement on February 2, describing the choice as “not an easy decision” but the right one for this stage of her life. “Stepping away from the daily schedule will allow me to prioritize my kids, which feels necessary and right for this next chapter of our lives,” she wrote, emphasising her two children, River, 11, and Remington, 9, as a central reason for the change.
The end of the daytime show comes after years of juggling a high intensity filming schedule with personal challenges, including the 2025 death of her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, from cancer. In her farewell note, Clarkson thanked her team, crew, guests, fans, and NBC for their support through the show’s run, which began in 2019 and earned numerous accolades.
Though she’s stepping back from hosting, Clarkson made it clear this isn’t the end of her creative output. “This isn’t goodbye,” she said, teasing plans to continue making music, perform live, and even make occasional TV appearances including possibly returning to The Voice.
As the curtains fall on her talk show era, Clarkson’s next chapter looks less about daily television and more about the flexibility to be present for her family while still doing what she loves.
