Ghanaian actress Martha Ankomah has disclosed that she is yet to cross paths with her fellow actor Lil Win in person. During an interview on Accra FM on August 7, amidst their ongoing legal dispute, she mentioned that her only interaction with Lil Win was a phone call he made in 2019 seeking a favor. Recalling the incident, Martha stated that on April 27, 2019, at 10:38 AM, she received a call from Lil Win.
“Before God and man, I have not met Lil Win physically and our paths have never crossed before. The only time I spoke to him was when he called me on phone for a favour.
“You know the iPhone keeps records. So, this was the only time Lil Win called me and asked for a favour with the very GTP he insulted me with.
“God being so good, I spoke to GTP. I don’t know if he went to see them or not. But, if Lil Win, would speak the truth, he reached out to thank me, afterwards,” Martha noted.
The movie star continued: “I also sent him a number for him to call, adding that they had assured he would be given a good deal. I asked him to reach out to me in case he needed further assistance. That’s the only time I ever spoke to Lil Win. I’ve not seen him physically before.”
According to Martha, the Kumawood actor and producer Lil Win reached out to him for a favour to help him get a deal from GTP to print uniforms for his school.
“He wanted GTP to print school uniforms for his school. And, he said, when he spoke about this to people, he was told Martha Ankomah was the GTP brand ambassador.
“So I told him no problem and I will speak to them and get back to you. So I called the Boss and he was like no problem and he gave me a number to give back to Lil Win,” she narrated.
Lil Win established the prestigious Great Minds International School in Kumasi back in 2018. It was in 2019 that the sought-after collaboration deal with GTP was reported to have been finalized. Fast forward to February 14, 2024, news broke out about a GHS5 million defamation lawsuit filed by Martha Ankomah against Lil Win, citing alleged defamatory remarks made by him against her.
The legal battle is currently ongoing with a scheduled hearing set for October. However, there are speculations circulating that both parties might opt for an out-of-court settlement.
