Charterhouse Productions Ltd, organizers of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), have announced that moving forward, the recipients of the prestigious Artist of the Year (AOTY) award will be granted exclusive access to fully sponsored events. Robert Klah, the Head of Public Events and Communication for Charterhouse, revealed this groundbreaking development during the Industry Mixer of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards on Saturday, July 13th. This innovative initiative is set to debut with artist, Stonebwoy, who secured the title of the 25th TGMA Artiste of the Year.
In his address at the Industry Mixer, Mr. Klah proclaimed, “Starting with Stonebwoy, Telecel will fully pay for multiple paid events for the Artiste of the Year, along with other Telecel products.” “This coming week details of what is gonna be with Stonebwoy will be announced,” he added.
The recipients of the TGMA awards were also bestowed with customized plaques during the ceremony, symbolizing the respective categories in which they emerged victorious. The Telecel Ghana Music Awards, orchestrated by Charterhouse Productions Ltd and Telecel, stands as a distinguished occasion that honors the musical prowess of Ghanaian artists.
This year’s Industry Mixer showcased captivating performances by renowned artistes such as Stonebwoy, Adane Best, among others, rendering it an unforgettable evening. Stonebwoy secured the prestigious ‘Artist of the Year’ award at the 25th TGMA, which unfolded at the Grand Arena, Accra International Conference Centre, marking his second triumph in the Artist of the Year category. The gala event, which transpired on the 1st of June 2024, was a magnificent affair hosted by Chris Atoh and Naa Ashorkor.
It showcased remarkable performances by King Paluta, Efya Nokturnal, and Kuami Eugene.A standout moment of the evening was when the iconic Highlife artiste Amakye Dede was honored with a lifetime achievement award, commemorated with interpretations of his songs by various artists before he graced the stage.
The competition for the prestigious “Artiste of the Year” award featured prominent nominees including Black Sherif, King Promise, Kuami Eugene, Nacee, Sarkodie, and Stonebwoy, underscoring the vibrant and multifaceted talent within the Ghanaian music industry.
