Great Ampong now a Reverend Minister

Renowned Ghanaian gospel artist Great Ampong has been officially ordained as a Reverend Minister by Ghanaian-American Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng in acknowledgment of his dedication to utilizing music as a medium to spread the gospel and provide support to the Christian community. The ordination ceremony took place during Great Ampong’s visit to Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng’s church in the United States of America.

Prior to bestowing the esteemed title upon him, Archbishop Kofi Adonteng Boateng took the opportunity to encourage Great Ampong to reflect on past conflicts and extend apologies to individuals with whom he has been at odds, including Daddy Lumba. During the ordination service at the church, Great Ampong graciously heeded the Archbishop’s counsel and offered his apologies to fellow musician Daddy Lumba.

Great Ampong, renowned for his spiritually uplifting gospel compositions, has been a prominent figure in Ghana’s Gospel music realm for nearly two decades. His songs tracks includes numerous chart-topping hits such as “Hossana,” “Akoko Funu,” and “Style Bia bi,” among others. This recent ordination signifies a significant milestone in his spiritual journey and ministry.

The longstanding feud between Great Ampong and Daddy Lumba has been the subject of considerable media attention over the years, as both artists have released diss tracks to express their grievances. Reports suggest that the dispute between Daddy Lumba and Ampong stemmed from unresolved royalty payments following their collaboration on the Christian song “Hosanna.”
