Halle Berry might still have lightning in her future just not in Avengers: Doomsday. As Marvel’s highly anticipated team-up film unites an army of heroes from across the multiverse, fans have been clamoring to know whether the Oscar-winning actress will reprise her defining comic book role as Storm. But in candid recent comments, Berry made it clear that, at least for now, that won’t be happening.
During a promotional appearance with co-star Chris Hemsworth, Berry was asked directly if she’d suit up as Storm again in the massive Marvel Cinematic Universe crossover. After a playful pause and a laugh, she bent the tease toward a firm “No” when pressed:
“Yeah, I would love to but, you know… no.”
The response confirmed what longtime fans had begun to suspect: despite the flood of returning X-Men icons now confirmed for Doomsday, Berry’s name was absent from the official announcements and casting chairs. Nonetheless, her affection for the character remains unmistakable.
“I love Storm. I love Storm so much, like so many people. She’s a beloved character, and she’s one of my favorites, and I’m so proud of playing that character. So, yeah, I would come back for sure.”
That heartfelt declaration has reignited speculation across social media about whether her character could still appear, perhaps in future Marvel epics like Avengers: Secret Wars or even in reshoots that add secret cameos.
For now, though, Berry’s Storm will remain a memory of earlier X-Men adventures, even as the MCU storms ahead into a new era of crossover spectacle.
