Hold on PSG Mbappe is just a human being

The French international has made his intentions known via a short video where he states “This is my last year at Paris Saint-Germain. … I will play my last match at the Parc des Princes this Sunday,” the 25-year old said in a video posted on the social media platform X on Friday.

“It’s a lot of emotions, many years where I had the chance and the great honour to be a member of the biggest French club, one of the best in the world,” Mbappe said.

“It allowed me to arrive here, to have my first experience in a club with a lot of pressure, to grow as a player, of course, by being alongside some of the best in history, some of the greatest champions,” he added.

“It’s hard, and I never thought it would be this difficult to announce that, … but I think I needed this, a new challenge, after seven years.”

Perhaps it’s not a small feat for one to declare his heart where else but for the pacy forward he has simply had enough and at age 25 he still has enough firepower to cement his name among the greats in the history of football.

PSG’s dream of wanting to win the Champions League at all costs proved futile especially when they thought money could solve the problem, the huge sums pumped into the buying of several players was the start even though there was always going to be something better than money.

Lionel Messi wanted that affection he had at Barcelona but never found it with the Qatari project, Neymar had the same desire even when he never said it, and Kylian Mbappe has realized this and wants to leave.

PSG must understand that the boos incurred ahead of the match against Toulouse towards Mbappe is a shame especially for a player who has won six League titles and three French cups and above all the defunct two league cups.

It was his intention to stay and play in his hometown club but the project was simply farfetched.
