J. Cole has officially released his highly anticipated seventh studio album The Fall-Off, a double-disc project that fans have waited years to hear. The album arrived on February 6, 2026, and quickly became one of the most talked-about releases in hip hop this year. The Fall-Off is widely expected to serve as the North Carolina rapper’s final official album.
The record spans 24 tracks split into two separate discs. Known as Disc 29 and Disc 39, the two sides represent different chapters in J. Cole’s life and career. Disc 29 reflects his experience returning home to Fayetteville at age 29 after pursuing his rap ambitions, while Disc 39 showcases his perspective at age 39, older, more settled, and closer to inner peace.
Cole has described the project as a full circle moment, bringing themes from his earliest work back into focus. He first teased The Fall-Off concept nearly a decade ago, and tracks such as The Fall-Off Is Inevitable helped build anticipation ahead of the release.
The album’s artwork also reflects the deeply personal nature of the project. The cover and back art feature photographs J. Cole took when he was fifteen, including images from the bedroom where he first began making music, surrounded by posters of artists who shaped his artistic vision.
Produced under Dreamville and Interscope Records with executive production from Cole and longtime collaborators, The Fall-Off includes contributions from producers such as T-Minus and Ibrahim Hamad. Although featured guest appearances have not been fully confirmed, the album’s introspective content and expansive tracklist mark it as one of J. Cole’s most ambitious projects to date.
