Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang , the former minister for education and the current running mate for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) , at a recently held conference for all female Ghanaian journalists , said and encouraged the female journalist to tell their stories.
At the conference , the running mate made it clear that women also have as many opportunities as the men in the society. But are undermined by their male counterparts on the basis of them not being emotionally strong in making certain decisions.
She told the journalists to tell their stories , not referring to their stories as journalists instead the story of every Ghanaian woman who is striving to achieve something better or has already made it through struggles and challenges.
Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang , makes them aware that women are also more capable and if their voices are heard , they have the potential to shape and change societal norms.
Speaking to the female journalists , she makes them aware that when the brave stories of Ghanaian women are told the will not be ignored or underestimated when voicing their voices in matters of national and social developments.
The running mate for the National Democratic Congress , emphasized on the issue that , female journalist should help on bring out the stories of their fellow women and not just treat the matter as trivial.
Also , they should really look into matters very well before reporting and not report on just anything.
Professor Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang , also encourages the female journalists to work hand in hand with their male colleagues to foster unity amongst themselves and provide credible information to the nation.
