The original Cover art of the most loved novel Harry Potter , which was written by Joanne Rowling best known as J K Rowling has set a ground breaking record with the auctioning of its cover art.
Harry Potter which was written by J.K Rowling , a British author in the year 1997, has made impressive sales with its auction on the original Cover art as it hits 1.9 million in just a few minutes after being auctioned.
Harry Potter which has translated into over 85 languages over the whole and has always remained as children’s most wanted fantasy novel.
The first edition of the original Harry Potter , titled “Harry Potter and the Philosophers stone” has had it cover art which was designed by Taylor Thomas to have the highest selling .
Taylor , at age 23 designed the original Cover of Harry Potter in just two days. He was working at a bookshop when the book was first published and his colleagues would tell shoppers that their friend is actually the designer for the highest selling selling novel , according to Sotheby.
Sotheby is the auction house in London where the watercolor artwork was displayed on Wednesday the 27th of June.
According to Sotheby , the cover art was sold for four times its estimated sales price , which has never happened before in the world of auctioning.
The original Cover is magnificent as it was crafted with watercolors , which had Harry Potter in his dark brown hair , round glasses and rushing to get on the Hogwarts Express train for his first trip to Hogwarts school of wizardry and witchcraft.
The watercolor cover art , is indeed valuable as it was used for all seven versions of Harry Potter and all it translated versions. However, it was not used in the edition used in the United States (US).
