Ray J is sounding the alarm on his health in stark terms few celebrities ever do publicly. The R&B artist and reality TV star revealed this week that doctors have warned him he may only have months left to live, painting a sobering picture of a life once defined by late-night parties and plenty of self-confidence.
In a series of emotional social media posts from his Los Angeles home, the 45-year-old said his heart is functioning at a frighteningly low 25 percent, a drastic drop from what’s considered healthy. “I want to thank everybody for praying for me,” he told fans. “I was in a hospital. My heart’s only beating like 25 percent,” he said, seemingly grateful for support even as he acknowledged the severity of his condition.
But it was during a live stream that Ray J delivered the bluntest line of all: “2027 is definitely a wrap for me.” That grim prognosis, he said, came straight from the medical professionals tending to him.
Ray J didn’t mask the cause of his decline. In another clip, he gestured toward his chest and admitted, “I fed up.” He described years of heavy drinking and drug use that he once thought his body could handle but now admits “it curved my time here.”
Despite the bleak outlook, he expressed gratitude for his sister Brandy and other family members who have rallied around him through hospital bills and care. As he faces one of the hardest chapters of his life, Ray J remains candid and reflective about the toll his choices have taken.
