Real Madrid, La Liga’s giant, has formally introduced Kylian Mbappe to their supporters. The unveiling of the French footballer took place at the iconic Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday, July 16, in the presence of 80,000 enthusiastic fans.
Kylian Mbappe, the captain of the France National team, underwent a medical examination early on Tuesday before his unveiling, successfully completing the assessments and then proceeding to the Bernabeu headquarters to formalize his contractual agreement.
Mbappe made his transition to Madrid as a free agent subsequent to the expiration of his contract with Paris Saint-Germain at the conclusion of the 2023/24 season, affirming that his ambition of becoming part of the 15-time Champions League victors has now come to reality.
“For years I’ve dreamed of playing for Real Madrid and today my dream has come true,” said Mbappe. “I’m a happy boy. I’m going to give my life for this club.”
“I want to thank President Florentino and everyone who made this possible, as well as my family, who are very happy. I see my mother crying…,” Mbappe said.
“It is an incredible, unbelievable day. Since I was a child, I dreamed of playing here, and this means a lot. I want to thank all the Madrid fans for the love they’ve given me over the years.
“Now, I hope to live up to the level of this club, the best in the world. I will give my life for this club and its crest,” he added. “To the children, I want to say: with passion, you can achieve your dreams, and one day, you might be here too.”
Mbappe concluded, “I’m very excited, and it means a lot to me to be here. I’m very happy to be part of the club of my dreams and the greatest club in the history of football.”
Mbappe signed a five-year contract and was bestowed with the No. 9 jersey by the club president, Florentino Perez, previously adorned by his compatriot and French national teammate, Karim Benzema. Former Real Madrid luminaries Zinedine Zidane, Santiago Solari, and Raul Gonzalez graced the unveiling ceremony at the Bernabeu.
