Stakeholders Engagement For Peasant Farmers Association In Ghana

Stakeholders engagement have been held for peasant farmers association in Ghana on the phase 2 of planting for food and jobs.

Briefing the media, Bismark Owusu Nortey who is the acting executive director for the peasant farmers association in Ghana said, the aim of the program is to deliberate about the PFJ 2.0 (phase 2 of planting for food and jobs) , the matters arising and how the farmers will benefit from it.

He said, majority of the farmers have no idea about the policy even though a lot of education has go on. Also, majority of the peasant farmers have not registered on the phase 2 of PFJ which is a major challenge for the government and the agric ministry which needs to be addressed.

Also, he stated that since the with the registration of the farmers, it is delaying the supply of inputs which will help the farmers.
On the part of the municipal agric director Mr. Stephen Edu said the PFJ policy is a good initiative which is going to help farmers and the agric ministry. Again he entreated all stakeholders and the peasant farmers to involve themselves in the policy.
The program which brought together the municipal and the district director of agric and farmers took place in the Bono East regional capital at Bonokyempem.
