The spouse of renowned gospel musician, Yaw Sarpong, has defended her choice to publicly address her marital issues. Auntie Pinamang expressed that she was at her breaking point and therefore decided to reveal her struggles on a public platform.
The distressed wife of the acclaimed gospel artist mentioned that she had been looking after her husband at Komfo Anokye Teaching Hospital (KATH), but circumstances arose that altered her responsibilities.
She stated that the popular ‘Wo Haw Ne Sen’ singer had decided to pursue treatment at a prayer camp, a decision she strongly disagreed with. Upon visiting him later, she was taken aback to see a member of his band, Maame Tiwaa, tending to him, which greatly disturbed her. During an interview on Kumasi-Oyerepa FM, she alleged that Yaw Sarpong’s family had obstructed her from providing care for him.
“I have been with my husband for 40 years. When his illness began, I was the one caring for him at Komfo Anokye Hospital. At one point, he asked me to stay home and pray for him because his sister would take him to a pastor for treatment and I was not happy about this. When I visited him after four days, I found Maame Tiwaa taking care of him, which was very upsetting. His sisters, especially one abroad, accused me of misusing his funds. Whenever I visit, his sisters will prevent me from seeing him,” she bemoaned.
Madam Pinamang is seeking assistance to reach a harmonious resolution to the issue. Before Yaw Sarpong’s manager officially confirmed his illness, gospel artists Diana Asamoah and Maame Tiwaa had already made the information public.Vice President Dr. Bawumia made a contribution of GH¢100,000 towards supporting Yaw Sarpong’s medical expenses.
As per the wife’s account, she proposed allocating a portion of the funds contributed by the Vice President towards the finalization of her husband’s construction project, yet her proposal was disregarded by her husband’s relatives.
